the incredi-kitty is at it again

right before this, olivander was cleaning himself. he had one leg straight in the air and was licking it. he stopped to look at shawn, while his leg remained in the air and the proceeded to lift and start to lick the other leg. so he was sitting in a V. then he stopped and ended up like this. for several minutes. he's so awesome.

who'd have known?

shawn and i are actually happy at a church. i never thought it would happen. i thought we'd have to start out own church to actually feel like ourselves somewhere. but this church has done it. the people there are so loving and so generous. we've been given chunks of money several times now, not to mention dinner offers and tons of pressies at christmas. and, on sunday, a couple (krista and kory) asked if we would like to have their van. just like that. we bought it from them for two bucks. it's a mini-van, but we're not going to fill it with babies so no one get any bright ideas. i'll put pictures up soon. shawn has so much freedom there. there is no precedent for arts so he has a totally blank canvas to develop whatever kind of programs and groups that he can dream of. and he has the resources for it because we have tons of super talented artists in our congregation. and, most importantly for me, i respect the pastor so much. it is rare that i respect anyone in leadership (my failing, i know, i'm working on it) but especially pastors as i have most of the training to be one. but steve definitely has my respect. he completely supports shawn (which, if you don't know, is so crucial for making a church work: the music pastor and pastor getting along and having a good relationship) and the choices that he makes. he doesn't need to have control over everything. he is an excellent conflict manager. and he preaches the best sermons i've ever heard. this is saying a lot as with most sermons i am silently begging them to tell me something i don't know or at least tell me something i do know but in a new way. i've already cried half a dozen times. they're truly fantastic sermons. so i'm putting it in writing: we love our church.

simplify - purge my clothes so that they can all fit in the wardrobe
mi voce - familiarize myself with standard operas and arias
home - buy new plants and keep them alive

moolah - get ahead one paycheck
our refund is on its way and will finish these two off nicely.

shawn - cuddle at least every two days
this has become as often as possible and is totally happening.
shawn - give him the space he needs
shawn - together identify and work toward yearly goals

so some things have been accomplished. some are out of my control at this point. and some have been too daunting, but i'll get to them all.
